I PRONOUNCE IT SPRING!

I know I'm a little ahead of the calendar, but this is the way I do it: I leave my outside Christmas Decorations up adding Valentine Hearts, then take them down after Valentines day and put out spring! So this was the day! Our little dog "Tasha"  made the rounds with me!

I took out the live greenery and poinsettias and added tulips in my little sitting area.

Add little wooden hearts until I plant the bright yellow and purple violas later in March.

Front door with the spring wreath. Can see a little glimpse inside too!

Tulips and daffodils added to the grapevine wreaths on rail fence each side of the driveway

Sweet little handmade mat given to me by my special friend Rose Marie for Valentines Day I just love it! It's so me!

The back is corduroy.

A friend Patricia put this quote on facebook and I loved it so much I made a piece of art out of it! Hope you'll slip over a view my 2nd blog: wwwpreciouscottage.blogspot.com

GIFT BAGS FOR CLUB +GLAMPING BOOK

I wanted a little something different for my exchange gift bags! Then I remembered the fabric flowers I made in the summer and hadn't done anything with. So painted a steam and leaves on the bags and pinned on the flower and there you go!

As you probably know I have a thing for cute campers and glamorous camping! So been wanting Mary Jane's book and got it!

My favorite early morning read spot. Don't get to do as much as I use to now that we care for our 2 1/2 year old great grandson full time.

Found this cute little  Christmas ornament a couple of years ago but I leave it out and enjoy it all year long!

I came across a neat facebook site: Jude Hill Spirit Cloth and was inspired to change one of her pieces to my own liking. Have ideas for several more animal 9-patch blocks too!

My newest painting: "Fish.Flora,Fauna Fantasy" is ready for hanging! This colorful 25"x 31" acrylic original would brighten an entry or any wall in your home! Price is $120.00

Husband Maurice doing his breathing treatment 3 times a day trying to get over "something" (the doctors can't seem to find out what) that he has had since July! I'm inviting you again to visit my other blog also: wwwpreciouscottage.blogspot.com and Marlynne Snare Folk Artist on facebook

REDBIRDS ON THE PULPIT TABLE + WINTER PROJECTS

It's my turn to do the Pulpit Table at church for January and February.

Aren't these neat old fabrics!  Got 27 blocks at a Antique Mall on a recent trip.

They called out for yellow don't you think?  So that's what I'm doing now. It will be a small quilt and so cute draped over the corner of a book case in my studio when finished. Can't wait!

Background for a "Fish" picture I am painting. See some the fish outlined in white?  I'm looking forward to getting back at it!  With a sick husband and taking care of a 2  1/2 yr. old great grandson I don't get things done as fast as I use too! I invite you to visit my 2nd blog too at www.preciouscottage.blogspot.com

MY PURSE HAS A NEW LOOK!

Wanted a new look so decided I would make a panel to hand stitch over the original one. This way I can have both!

Gathered different black and white and grey materials from my stash, even found some multicolored yarn in the right colors.

This is what I covered!  As you can see it's neat too, so wanted to be able to use it this way again also! Was an easy and fun project!

SURPRISE LETTER IN THE MAIL

One of my very Favorite Author/Illustrators Tomie dePaola surprised me with a response to a letter I wrote to him 2 yrs. ago I enjoy rereading his book "Christmas Remembered" every Christmas season. I also have several of his children's books  in my collection.

I've been wanting to make a Marlynne Folk Art Angel for my Studio Wall so got it done this past week. Of course she had to be dressed in red with polka dots! I have some others cut out to make for the shops too!

I enjoy my hanging pennants so much I decided to make some for the shops and maybe bag up a few sets for sale.

Fun fabric half circles ready to string with Twisted Jude Twine. I'd like to invite you to visit my other blog; www.preciouscottage.blogspot.com and Marlynne Snare Folk Artist on Facebook. Wishing you a Happy and Safe 2014!

"THE MARCH OF THE TOY SANTAS"

I Made 37 Santas this year. All ready for gift giving to family and friends.

The title I wrote on each one is "Santas New Outfit"

I started  making Santas in 1985 and have done it every year since, (28 yrs.)  except for 1981. That year was a Bad one with the death of one son and the serious long hospitalization of another.
