TRYING TO KEEP THEM ALIVE

I have blue mason jars that I fill with zinnas every week and take to a few to my friends, plus a bouquet for ourselves. Picking up the used jar and leaving a freshly filled one each time.  With the temperature 103-106 the last few weeks and no rain but  few drops for 14 weeks, it's been a challenge!  I water  the 100 foot long flower bed .every other night. The other day I picked a big pink one with three centers! I keep all the dead blooms for seed for next year  so will see if they reproduce!
Got this cute little sand bucket with flowers at a shop in Augusta, Mo. in the spring. It's still alive!

This is the pink zinna with the three centers! I understand this is a rare occurence!

BUTTTON FLOWERS ( Bouquets & Postcards)

These are my Button Flower Postcards created for the July Postcard Exchange  in the "Roses on my Table" a online art community trade group. Each month there is a different subject. dinisduis                                                                                                                                                                         in Exc
These are my real Button Bouquets
The button stems are made by selecting one, two or three buttons , running a thin wire from underneath the button up thru the button ( or buttons) holes and down underneath again and twist around the stem close to the button. Then twist green florist tape around the stem, adding  a few fabric leaves, contining down the stem. I cut  the wire pieces about 10"-12" long. It's great fun, hope you'll try it!

TREE HOUSES

Painting of  Davey's Treehouse I did one beautiful Fall day

Our neighbor is building a super treehouse for his 3 little kids. It even has a porch overlooking the pond. It will have dual purposes. Playhouse and Deer Stand.  Reminded me of the fun we had building grandson Daveys Tree House for his 5th Birthday Nov. 20, 2005. Grandma & Grandpa  even used it once for an impromptu Rainy Morning Breakfast listening to the rain on the metal roof.

ANOTHER PRAYER FLAG

Decided it was time to create another Prayer Flag and hang it in my Mama Mia Room (outside backyard) We are so dry and hot here in Missouri, the leaves are falling off the trees like it's fall!  So My flag has one word RAIN!  The hanging blue bottles are part of my on going collection of colored bottles.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

Happy Birthday Wonderful America! I feel so blessed to be able to live here! This sign board was one of my entries last fall in our Art Show. I enjoy making the Uncle Sams ever so often as gifts. Will plan on doing it again next year!
