CHRISTMAS IS ALMOST HERE

THIS JESUS STATUE WAS GIVEN TO US SEVERAL YEARS AGO BY OUR SON & WIFE.  THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR I HAVE DECORATED IT. BUT HOW FITTING!  I REALLY LIKE IT!

DUE TO AN EXTENDED ILLNESS OF MY SISTER'S HUSBAND, I HAVE SPENT A GREAT DEAL OF TIME WITH HER IN THE CITY. I DECIDED THIS WOULD BE A SIMPLIFIED  DECORATED CHRISTMAS THIS YEAR.  AND I HAVE TO SAY I REALLY LIKE THE LOOK OF IT! MY HUSBAND  DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO PULL ONE BOX OUT OF THE BARN!  JUST USED STUFF I HAD IN THE HOUSE OR EASILY GOTTEN TO!

JUST ADDED POINSETTIAS AND RED VELVET RIBBON I HAD IN THE STOREROOM IN OUR HOUSE TO THE FALL DECORATED TABLES!

USUALLY I CHANGE THE RUNNER TO CHRISTMAS BUT NOT THIS YEAR!

MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS PAINTING I DID IN 1996 ALWAYS HANGS IN THE KITCHEN.

THIS IS OUR 40TH YEAR FOR MAKING HOMEMADE CHRISTMAS CARDS! ONE FOR EACH YEAR IS DISPLAYED HERE.

A CLOSEUP OF THIS YEARS CARD.

I'M SURE GLAD I HAD THE PAINTING FOR THE CARD DONE EARLY!

WHILE TRAVELING AND STAYING AT THE HOSPITAL DAYS WITH SISTER JUDY I MADE CHRISTMAS GARLANDS IN 3 SIZES.

2 SIZES ARE USED HERE.

I DIDN'T PUT UP OUR LARGE TREE BUT USED THIS BACK PORCH TREE.  IT REALLY LOOKS PRETTY AT NIGHT WITH THE RED LIGHTS. IT DOESN'T SHOW HOW PRETTY IT REALLY LOOKS IN THIS PICTURE THOUGH!

I KEEP MY BLUE GRANITE CUPS AND RED POLKA DOT RIBBON HANDY  IN A CABINET IN THE KITCHEN.

GOT TO HAVE A MEAL WITH OUR GRANDDAUGHTER JACKIE AND GRT. GRANDSON ELI BEFORE HE WENT FOR HIS VISIT WITH HIS DAD

QUITE A LITTLE MAN!

SHARED A MEAL WITH SON PAUL AND HIS GIRL FRIEND TRACEE. WE CELEBRATED HER BIRTHDAY.

AND GOT TO SPEND TIME WITH TRACEE'S LOVELY MOTHER ,BETTY TOO!

AFTER A MONTH IN THE HOSPITAL BROTHER-IN-LAW BOB IS AT HOME WITH HOSPICE COMING DAILY. HE HAD A LONG AWAITED VISIT WITH HIS DOG VICTORIA HERE. I HAD JUST PICKED HER UP FROM THE GROOMER. SISTER JUDY HAS MISSED HER TOO! THEN SHE HAD TO GO BACK TO THE FARM WITH MY HUSBAND MAURICE UNTIL THEY ARE ABLE TO HAVE HER BACK FOR GOOD.  BLESSING ON YOU ALL FRIENDS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS ONE AND ALL!

Hi Marlynne-
I'm sorry to hear that your brother in law is ill. Is he staying at your house for the month? I think your simple decorating was a great idea. Some years are just like that! And it's funny how those years seem to be a bit more enjoyable.
I adore your painting of Mrs. Claus! Or maybe she's just a sweet lady. But it's wonderful! I love the wallpaper!
Your friends must anticipate (and collect) your annual Christmas card then, after 40 years! What fun!
I love your folk art style so much!
Happy Holidays to you and Maurice!
Erica :)

You have Improvised for this Christmas Beautifully my Friend! Sometimes it makes it even more Memorable when we have to adapt on the fly due to circumstances beyond our control. Hugs and Prayers coming to you all from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
