Me (Marlynne) & special friend Hope on porch of Weinstrasse Log Cabins where we have stay the last 3 years. This was Earth Day so we created the banner and it hung here all week. One of our favorite places to paint was the Frisella Nursery. They had a delicious complementary brunch ready for us. Most every day there was a social or two with delicious food and wine. I didn't drink the wine but brought home 38 beautiful blue, green & amber bottles! In Defiance there was also a car show. Our Hosts Mark & Jan Cross brought their old Willy. I picked out this beautiful old black 40's Chevy Truck for husband Maurice & I to pose by! At the Beautiful Montelle Winery afternoon paintout we were honored to have Mary Engelbreit, well know Artist, Illustrator and Author present for a book signing and later judge for our show Our friend Lisa Carmon from my favorite Stone Ledge Antiques in Augusta is in the picture also, she had a fantastic social for us at her shop on Monday. Local School Art Teacher, Kimberly Alsop invited us to see her Gypsy Caravan and Artistic Villa Home they created out of a metal garage! It was just amazing to see what she and her husband had put together! She also has a group come weekly to put their junk together and create these terrific metal sculptures I would sure love to be one of those friends if I lived there! It was a very fun week even with the cold weather and we plan to be there again next year!
Hello, my name is Marlynne Joy Snare (pronounced Marilyn) and I am really excited to be jumping into this new world of "blogging". I call myself a "Folk Artist" and enjoy creating with fabric, paint, wood and all types of natural materials. It will be fun to share some of these inside and outside the house projects with you too!
