LOVE THIS LITTLE ARTIST STUDIO!

Tucked in the woods in Olathe, Kansas is this darling Artist Studio Boutique and Yellow Barn Pottery and Gift Shop.

I'd been hearing about these "Garden Stakes" but not seen any! It's a fun idea!

Been working hard ! Now have a date for our first  Folk Art  Show & Flea Market, Oct 19th. But had two other opportunities come about! The new M & B Mercantile in Garden City, Mo. would like to feature me as a Local Artist during the Fall Festival! I was worried about showing my art out in the heat in Sept. so this is perfect!  Then the 3rd thing was she happened to mention she had located the building she wanted for her Antique/Furniture Mall and there were just a couple of booths left and they were $50.00 a month. I said I'd think on it, well I went around the block ,came back and said I'll do it! So we're in in the "Both Business"  again!. It's been probably 5 years since out last venture! My sister Judy will work with me like in the past. But this time the main focus will be my Folk Art with her Antique/Boutique finds as "fillers"! So will not be the pressure on her!

This is fitting for me! I love my coffee and mornings!

One of my favorite quotes! Everytime I paint me it looks like Mother! Everyone said we looked alike though she had more hair!

One of our 4 &5 Yr. Old's favorite songs in Sunday School !  I just paint what's goin thru my mind at the time!

I love quotes and keep a Quote Book  that I'm always adding to. So my Folk Art is a perfect fit for me!

I'm going to add Polka Dot ribbon to hangers on these. Maybe in sets of 3 or individually.

Well, "Happy Fall" to you!  It's my favorite time of year! Here I am showing off my new bag and bracelet I purchases at the Junque Boutique.

GETTING READY FOR A FOLK ART SHOW

"Zinnia's in Blue Mason Jar" is my latest 8"x10" gallery wrapped acrylic painting of zinnias from my garden. I love painting this size, they look so cute grouped or singly in a small area.  This painting sells for $40.00 plus postage.

A close-up

Have been making and painting crosses also.  This "Light of the World" cross measures 10"x18" and is priced at $15.00 plus postage.

My collection of smalls. I really enjoy doing these the most!

This 8"x12" cross I have named  "Rose of Sharon"  It will be priced at $10.00 plus postage.

The 4 remaining crosses are 4"x8" and will be priced at $7.50 plus postage. This cross I have named "Bittersweet"

I named this cross "Daniel" after a young man  I  bought a cross from at an Artist Colony several years ago

"Solitude"  has a peaceful little feel to it I think.

Being a red & yellow lover, this is my favorite cross so far! I have named it; "Chosen One".  Well, this gives you an idea what I've been doing in between caring for a 2yr old great grandson and a husband trying to recover from Chemo Therapy. Being creative is good medicine for me!

WORKING ON MY "FANTASTY BIRD WATCHING" ART SHOW ENTRY

I Have been living with the background part of this painting for awhile trying to come up with an inspiration.  Today it happened! I had made a folk art tree with folk art birds several years ago and all of a sudden the idea seemed perfect for my  fantasy painting!  Still adding more birds and glitter glue paint!

The "Chemo Quilt" is coming right along!  I have 83 sewed together in quilt form, 22 ready to sew into hexagons and 35 cut out and ready to baste together at my husbands  next 2-day chemo session. It's going to take about 150 or so after that to get enough for my quilt! But that's O.K. I like on going FUN projects!

Isn't he precious!  Great Grandson Eli is finishing up his nap time.

Momma( Jackie) and Eli are trying for success along with Elmo's help!

Two new (old) things to play with in my folk art flower garden.

MEET "THE LONGNECK COUSINS"!

Garrison Keillor says if you want to write, find somebody to write about and just start writing, page after page! Don't worry about getting everything in order. Just write everything that comes to mind about this real or ficticious person. Then much later start to make a story out of it!. Well I wasn't even thinking about writing a story when I decided to paint my folk art version of the popular long neck girls, but as I was I  thought of a name for them and then wouldn't they be fun to write about! So we'll see how many pages I have to write to maybe come up with something!
These first three sisters (with the Polka-dot backgrounds)  are the COUNTRY LONGNECK COUSINS. .  PEGGY SUE, I believe will be the middle child, very fun loving and outgoing who loves the color  red!

ANNA MARIE is the oldest of the country cousins. Mature and loving and acts like the second Mother of the girls .

PATTY LOU  is the youngest and fairest of the three. She is the only light hair, blue eyed one of the three!

Next are the CITY LONGNECK COUSINS. JUDITH ANN is the oldest and more mature. She is the only blond /blue eyed girl of the city sisters. Here favorite color is Blue.

MARLYNNE JOY (pronounced Marilyn)   is the middle sister , who is very creative and even designs and makes her own clothes!

CAROL LYNN is the youngest city sister.  I haven't got a fix on her yet!
WELL, I'VE  GOT MY CHARACTERS NOW!  I'M ON MY WAY!  ANY IDEAS FOR ADVENTURES?
